  1. I’m reading Tom Wheeler’s Mr. Lincoln’s T-Mails: The Untold Story of How Abraham Lincoln Used the Telegraph to Win the Civil War. (No e-mail, but t-mail was pretty fast. Lincoln was an early adopter.)

    I also like Paul and Stephen Kendrick’s Douglass and Lincoln: How a Revolutionary Black Leader and a Reluctant Liberator Struggled to End Slavery and Save the Union. (Yes, that Frederick Douglass.)
