Gone to the Dogs

August 10, 2009

In all of history there may be one question that has proven time and again to be the great divider: Are you a cat or dog person?

This week, we look at what the Resource Connection has to say on the subject of our loyal canine companions. The 23 resources include a lesson plan from the Indiana Department of Education in which students learn the economic lessons of working at a kennel by watching an online clip; fun, family-friendly activities about dogs from Buddy2; a PBS lesson about segregation from a child’s point of view in the lyrics of  the civil rights song “Your Dog Loves My Dog;” a resource about the importance of the dog that accompanied Lewis and Clark on their journey from Discovering Lewis and Clark; and a document from the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology about prehistoric dogs.

Not a dog lover? Just wait until next week when we talk about your favorite felines!
